There are so many products, treatments and tools out there that can help you achieve that Hollywood flutter, but when we take it back to basics and stick with the traditional curlers, which are your favourite?

I personally have straight lashes, that are long but you would never tell because of the fair ends. Until of course I curl and mascara them! And only then am I happy to batter my lids to everyone in site!

HOT TIP: To give your eyelashes a natural curve, rather than a bend where you put the eyelash curler pressure on, simply start at the root of your lash and pulse the curlers out towards the end giving each section a good squeeze… this way you not only get beautifully opened eyes, but with the most natural glamorous curve possible!

HOT TIP 2: Another trick that if you’re careful (a common one that most of you may know) is to heat your lashes with the hair dryer before curling – !WARNING! THESE CAN GET VERY HOT, SO PLEASE TEST THE HEAT OF THE CURLERS ON YOUR INNER WRIST BEFORE APPLYING TO THE EYE! You only want them to be warm as your lashes are very delicate and won’t need much teasing with the heat!

Plastic Lash Curlers: To be honest, I’ve tried and tried with these curlers and just cannot see what they do! The plastic that your lashes are supposed to bend around to curl is too thick, and therefore don’t actually curl! It’s like it just holds on to you lashes and that’s it. A completely pointless task and waste of £1.50 – although a good  reflection on price!

Metal Last Curlers: These are my absolute FAVOURITE. I don’t think you can beat the original lash curler. They are effective and curl your lashes exactly how you want them to. A great tool for working the HOT TIPS that I have provided you with above! So get practising!

Heated Lash Curlers: Now these are also very effective if used correctly. They may not give your lashes an extreme curl as the procedure of using these curlers is more of a combing effect. Therefore if it’s a natural wave to  your lashes that you are after (topped up with the all important mascara), than these although a little pricier than the traditional ones, are definitely worth the spend.

You may notice that I haven’t suggested any specific shops to buy these in, as I’m sure you’ll all agree that these are available almost everywhere! Boots, Argos, Departments Stores, Supermarkets, the lot!
