Always wanting to keep you updated with the latest beauty crazes, one that has been around for a while and keeps popping up in the headlines is the Fish Pedicure…

So basically, you put your feet in a tank full of tiny little fish and they suck off all your dead skin. After a while, you remove your feet from the water and they will feel all soft and ready for a massage. The fish used are called Garra Rufa fish, found naturally in hot springs in Turkey.  They don’t have teeth, so they don’t chew your dead skin off, but rather they suck your dry skin away. As an added bonus, The Garra Rufa saliva has beneficial properties too! It contains an enzyme called diathanol, which improves the skin regeneration process. In Japan, they do  whole-body, full-immersion fish spas! Now that scares me…

In Kensington , London, there is a Fish Therapy Spa called Aqua Sheko. It looks lovely and is totally devoted to the Fish Pedicure. Prices are reasonable; £30 for an express pedicure and £45 for the deluxe pedicure. Even though I don’t like my feet touched, and I don’t really like the thought of lots of tiny fish swimming around, nibbling and sucking at my feet, I’m strangely drawn to this new experience.
