This week I attended the Independent Fashion Bloggers conference in New York City. I took away a lot of good tips and information, as well as a few new friendships, but if I’m being completely honest, the best thing I found was the amazing new shoe company, Jeff Silverman.
Being what some may call a bit of a “shoe whore” (okay, so I have shoes lining my book shelves rather than books), I’m completely head over heels in love. Pun intended.
Jeff Silverman has been in the shoe industry since he was 16 years old and is also the ex-president of Steve Madden. That being said, this guy obviously knows shoes.
What makes his latest endeavor so unique however, is that this company offers completely made-to-order shoes. You read that correct; you work with them to design your ideal shoe. The customer chooses the style, the heel, the color, the fabric – like their tag line states, “You desire it. We make it.”. You even get to name it, since it is your shoe after all. My heart admittedly skipped a few beats as I got the run down at their sponsor table.
Somehow though, that wasn’t the end of the good news. If designing your own shoe from scratch isn’t quite your thing, you can sort through shoes designed by other users, and even further customize their styles if you choose.
I know I’m raving over this company like a kid in a candy store, but this is honestly my dream come true. I’m already sorting through styles and trying to come up with the perfect elements for my quintessential shoe. I can not wait to place my first order, and become a bonafide shoe designer.
