QUESTION:
Dear Victoria,
I have an important interview coming up for an editorial assistant job at a pretty major fashion mag. This is my dream job and I was wondering what you think the best thing for me to wear would be? I’m a typical pear shape and not too tall, so nothing too short and nothing too tight around the derrière!
Desperate to be stylish – London
ANSWER:
Dear Desperate to be stylish,
I’ve actually had the same predicament! The thing with working for a fashion magazine is that the first impression speaks volumes, so don’t wear anything that shows too much flesh but don’t pick a suit that shows no individuality. I’ve put together my perfect interview outfit, using basics such as a shift dress but with accessories so show the interviewer you have your own unique sense of style, whilst showing you are up to speed on the latest trends, something that is extremely important if you plan on working in the fashion industry. Heels can add that extra bit of height and confidence but pick a heel size that doesn’t compromise your strutting ability. Remember a firm handshake is vital and read up about all the latest news in fashion before hand found here at Esvie.
