London Fashion Week – Day 1: After watching the Caroline Charles show at Somerset House on Friday 19th February, I have to say I did leave feeling a little deflated. I could see that taking individual pieces away from the collection and you could see the attraction, however felt that it was generally quite an “older” collection to be had.
Key pieces that I did pick up on that took my fancy, was the heavy use of accessories. Green leather gloves and belts, earmuffs, patent hats… it was all going on! And worked really well in contrast to the materials and textures of the designs.
Shorts and thick tights are still a hit with this collection and a touch of 1940′s vintage was definitely visible throughout. Again, put together can look a bit much, however taking individual pieces from the collection and mixing them up with your personal wardrobe could really work…
