Rumours are abound this week that Nicole Richie is to take over the reins at Halston as their celebrity ambassador. The label, synomomous with Studio 54 and 70s downtown New York has been quiet since SJP’s sudden and shocking departure last year, and what with Nicole’s own labels Winter Kate and accessories line House of Harlow focusing on that same bohemian, carefree vibe that Halston is famed for, she’d bring a much needed breath of fresh air to the fashion house.
And Nicole’s already proved she’s a big fan of Halston, having chosen to wear a white, asymmetrical slash dress from the designer’s A/W 2011 collection to Elton John’s AIDS Foundation Oscar Viewing Party earlier this year and more recently, a sequinned shift to the launch of her accessories line in West Hollywood. Is she secretly trying to tell us something… ?
