Sweet Little Lies – The perfect So-Cal look of Lauren Conrad

One sure fire way to make sure your new book tops the best sellers list is to be papped out and about at various signings in fabulous outfits. Sweet Little Lies is the second instalment for The Hills star, Lauren Conrad. I’ve already ordered my copy, I read the first one and the ending was so open I forced to buy the second instalment…good idea to boost sales LC.
I’m not ashamed to say I love Conrads style, the laid back yet perfectly polished So-Cal (Southern Californian) look that she manages to carry off effortlessly. The red lipstick might be a little too much but the French inspired striped vest and pencil skirt look great, as does the Alice and Olivia floral dress. Lauren seems to be the perfect muse for the new Alice and Olivia collection and has been spotted in various creations from the designers.
Wet look leggings and an oversized boyfriend blazer is a staple in the reality stars wardrobe as are library chic cardigans teamed with pretty sundresses. I was obsessed with The Hills, especially when Lauren worked for Teen Vogue. Every episode brought new ideas for my own wardrobe and I even started pulling out Lauren images from my monthly addiction to fashion glossies. I’m not four years older than I was then so thankfully I’ve paired down my addiction to searching online now and again for new inspiration.
From this image bank I think I’ll be getting myself some tailored shorts with an oversized tee tucked in, a striped vest perfect for my waiting pencil skirt and lastly some tan strappy mega-heels.
