They’ve gone and done it again haven’t they! Starman completely stole the show at the O2 on Friday 26th March, after performing at the Pineapple Dance Studios Live Finale.
With queue’s of loyal Pineapple fans waiting patiently out in the cold for hours, the “variety” show finally kicked off after the IndigO2 was comfortably packed out, buzzing with energy not only from the hundreds of hyped up followers but with many other familiar faces of celebrities that have recognised their appreciation for these performers.
Starman performed a 3 song medley for their first appearance on stage, including their new single “I Don’t Wanna Dance” available for pre-order now from iTunes! Click HERE to get yours.
They stepped out looking amazing in their new look “get up” (bravo to the stylist), with the band dressed all in white with black army boots and bowler hats, and lead singer Andrew Stone fashioning a somewhat “hedgehog” style shoulder suit and cuff. It may sound random, but with the light reflecting materials, this is about as effective it gets when you are surrounded by spotlights! Very clever indeed when Andrews performances are always so full of energy!
So now picture this… not only do you get the excitement of watching Starman “do their thing” up on stage at the O2, but the crowd got a second helping when the band arrived back on stage for their second set, performing a song written by Andrew to celebrate 30years of Pineapple Studios and this time they were not alone – and not looking themselves to say the least either!
Walking out in “fancy dress”, the band looked a little less, what should I say… sharp!? But with the show being all about fun, Starman aren’t afraid to play along; and with Luka (on drums) as the “Army Soldier”, Craig (on keys) as the token “Female”, Jesus (guitar) as, well… “Jesus” and Mickey (guitar) as a cuddly bear. But that’s not all, Andrew then appeared in a very camp gold catsuit and feather boa alongside, wait for it… DAVID VAN DAY! The I’m a Celebrity pop sensation of the 80′s band Dollar joined the band for this special moment also dressed in what I can only explain as a Sultan outfit. The crowd loved it and by the looks of it, so did they!
However, fear not, although this may have all been filmed for the final Pineapple Dance Studios episode, this is not the last you’ll see of Starman. After witnessing screaming competition winners fighting for autographs backstage, they have a long and successful road ahead! So watch this space!!
