Street style. It’s out of control and I blame Scott Schuman; it all began with The Sartorialist. What started with a lone man and his camera spawned a legion of fans, a book and countless copycats. Where fashion was an exclusive and high-end concept, the phenomena of street style has subverted the dominant narrative of style and replaced it with the notion of ‘the people’s fashion’. Whereas street style once emulated high end and high-street fashions, it now influences, if not creates, it. From geriatrics to teens to cyclists to off-duty models, it would appear that no one is safe from a snap-happy stylista. In an over-crowded fashion bubble, ESVIE takes you on a walk off the beaten track to bring you the greatest under-the-radar street style blogs from around the world.

Hoy Fashion

Fun and quirky, this blog showcases the best of the best of British fashion.  Centred on Liverpool, recognised as an increasingly metropolitan and fashion-forward city, it shows that sartorial know-how does exist outside of London. The vibe of the site is an amalgamation of vintage finds, statement jewellery, worn denim and battered leather and it is unashamedly youth-centred. Head to Hoy to see how the cool kids rock it.

Those Tokyoites sure know how to set a trend or two. A personal favourite, Style-arena showcases street style from the birthplace of individuality and quirkiness. Choose from five Tokyo provinces, each of which has a different vibe: the colour clash of Harajuku, classiness of Ginza, edgines of Omotesando, artsy Daikanyama or the trend-led fashions of Shibuya. This blog showcases how our sisters rock the trends all the way on the other side of the world. A melting pot of inspiration.
