QUESTION:

Dear Victoria,

Please can you help! I am off on holiday soon and had good intentions to lose weight beforehand…however as usual not quite managed it! Now I’m left wondering what can I wear that I will be comfortable on the beach in? My problem area is my love-handles & stomach, so what type of swimwear can I wear that is going to look up-to-date, cool but hide my sins??

Thanks in advance

Dawn – Leeds

ANSWER:

Dear Dawn,

Don’t worry about stepping foot on the beach if you haven’t had time to diet because with this seasons love for the one piece there’s no need to worry about showing off your gorgeous curves once you hit the sand. The one-piece bathing suit seems to be timeless and can suit everyone. Thin or curvy women can look beautiful with this swimsuit style due to the flattering cut and designs. Choose a strapless, one shoulder or regular one-piece bathing suit in one or multiple colors. A cut-out style can help show certain areas of the body which you love, like a small waist, but gives the mysterious appeal of hiding your sins. If a two-piece is more your thing then why not mix and match your tops and bottoms to create a unique look that no one else will have on the beach. Remember if your more of a pear shape, stick to a darker bikini bottom and a vibrant top to draw the eye up. This season is all about accessorizing on the beach. Headscarves wrapped in a bow a la Diane Von Furstenberg, big earrings and a taffeta beach bag are all you need to look stylish. Why not try a beach cover up like these from high street shopping haven Topshop. Or how about a maxi dress that will take you from the beach to the bar? Take a look at my picks from the high street for your ideal beach look for your up and coming holiday.
