Since working in the industry, it had become quite apparent how glamorous, yet UN-glamourous the industry can be.
My fascination with fashion and beauty started by having an obsession with buying magazine upon magazine just so I could study the editorials, the hair, the makeup, the styling, facial expressions of the model, location, colour… it all adds towards that perfect shot.
Then it became hugely surreal when I now find myslef not only working on the makeup of these shoots, but organising them myself! Now, stood behind the scenes of these “perfect” images, can be a whole different story!
There is just SOOO much to think of, from casting, to styling, to time, briefs, catering, space, props… the list is endless, but the end result can be so rewarding.
One thing I have found when pulling together these shoots is amount of space needed to keep the props and set design safe for the bigger productions. Although saying that, the good old Self Storage idea has been an abolute life saver in these instances. Keeping everything safe and under one roof ready to pull out for the next shoot, confident they are safe and secure.
